Your child has begun their Krav Maga journey at Bristol Titans. Having the right kit helps them train safely and comfortably while learning valuable skills. Below is a simple list of the essential items we recommend for every young martial artist.
Recommended Training Kit
- Muay Thai Gloves
- Muay Thai Shin Guards
- Gumshield
- Groin Guard
Ask a coach if you’re unsure on sizing or brands. All equipment will come with a sizing guide. I have provided example equipment available at Amazon with direct links please do not feel you need to buy from Amazon, eBay has many to choose from, and you can also source equipment off Facebook MarketPlace.
Muay Thai Boxing Gloves
Protects the hands and partner during pad work and drills. Look for kids’ gloves with a solid Velcro wrist strap and a snug, comfortable fit.
Muay Thai Shin Guards
Should cover the shin and instep and stay put without sliding around. Muay Thai-style guards give good protection and are easy for kids to take on and off between drills.
Gumshield
A gumshield is recommended for sessions involving controlled sparring or grappling. Sparring for kids is body-only and supervised, and head guards are worn where appropriate.
Groin Guard
Recommended for protection during partner drills. Choose a style that’s comfortable and stays in place while moving – compression-shorts or jock-style both work well.
Bristol Titans Club Kit and Clothing
We also have a small range of Bristol Titans club kit and clothing available for both adults and kids. This is completely optional and not required to train, but some students prefer wearing club kit once they’ve settled in.
Club kit is suitable for regular training and designed to be comfortable, durable, and practical for Krav Maga sessions.
