What to Expect in Your First Krav Maga Class
Krav Maga is a modern and practical self defence system focused on instinctive responses and real-life scenarios. Unlike traditional martial arts, there are few rituals – we focus on efficient training. Students and coaches are on a first-name basis, and the atmosphere is professional yet welcoming.

Club Rules & Training Etiquette
To help you get the most from your training and keep everyone safe, here are some key rules all members follow:
- Punctuality Matters: Classes start promptly at 7:00pm or 7:30pm. Aim to arrive 10 minutes early to settle in and avoid disrupting the session.
- Communicate with Your Coach: If you’re injured, have questions, or need new training gear, speak to your coach at the start of the session.
- Respect Your Training Partners: Always introduce yourself when partnering up. Shake hands, exchange names – we’re all here to learn and grow together.
- Stay Sober: No drugs or alcohol before class – you’ll be asked to leave.
- Pay Attention: When the instructor is speaking or demonstrating techniques, listen quietly and attentively.
- Late? Wait: If you arrive late, stand to the side and wait for the coach’s permission to join.
- Hygiene is a Must: Shower before class, wear deodorant, and keep your kit clean. Dirty gear is unpleasant and disrespectful to others.
- Keep it Clean: No swearing, no food or drink on the mat, and phones must be silent.
- Dress Right: Remove jewellery and metal objects. Keep fingernails and toenails short.
- Train Safely: Always match the intensity to your partner’s level, especially in sparring. We train hard, but we train smart.
